Eaglestone Rock and Lake Brown near Mukinbudin

As far as the eye can see there’s mile after mile of broad acre grain farms around the flat landscape of the Wheatbelt, but occasionally rising above it all is an impressive rock outcrop. The map tells us this one’s called Eaglestone Rock but the Mukinbudin locals call it Turtle Rock - it’s not hard to see why. It stands next to Lake Brown, a dry salt lake for much of the year. It’s worth visiting any time of day, but it’s really speccy at sunset.
