Bhreagh & Hammy {wedding}
From the moment Bhreagh and I started chatting on the phone I loved her! She was marrying Hammy at Lost Lake Winery in beautiful Pemberton and they were planning a wedding festival. It all sounded completely perfect in every way.
Unusually, I didn't get to meet Bhreagh and Hammy in person before their wedding ceremony but as her Dad drove her into the winery in an old Land Cruiser with Getting Hitched across its bonnet, and she beamed at me out of the window, I felt like I'd known her for years.
The simple ceremony, conducted by celebrant Leanne Meldrum, took place by the lake, and then Bhreagh and Hammy took me to a secret spot they'd discovered for some photos. As the late afternoon sun peeked between the trees, it was like an enchanted forest. Taking time out for photographs with just the bride and groom is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day - it's often the only time in the entire day that they are on their own. I see it as a time for them to take it all in, to stop and breathe for a moment. And what a magical setting they'd found for this.
Back at the winery, the guests were enjoying themselves by the lake and as the sun was setting, Ben from Eat No Evil began sending out the his amazing finger food, including fish tacos and mountain pepper lamb cutlets. With the lawn games, the great music, the big fire drum, the party lights and Ben's food truck it felt just like the festival that Bhreagh and Hammy had dreamed of.
Bhreagh's vintage-inspired dress was by Elvi Designs, hair by Guest Room Hair & Design, make-up by Annie Giacomel, those amazing flowers by Nardine at Scentiment Flowers, cheese wheel cake from Re Store in Leederville and festival lighting by Ferguson Valley Events.
