Rachel & Josh {wedding}
Over the last eight years or so, I’ve photographed weddings all around Denmark and anyone who’s ever been here knows that this is a particularly beautiful part of the world, with so, so many photogenic locations. Recently, at Rachel and Josh's I discovered another of Denmark’s hidden treasures, tucked away along a laneway I’d never even noticed was there before. And that was where our beautiful bride was lucky enough to grow up.
(If you too would like to hold your wedding here, I can only suggest that you become Rachel’s new BFF and ask very, very nicely!)
Still nursing my broken wrist, it was great to have Krysta Guille taking photos with me on the day. Krysta is my favourite person at the moment after bringing coffee to my hospital bed after surgery. Thanks for lots of things, Krysta, but mainly just for being you.
So...back to this amazing wedding. Josh and his groomsmen (three of whom are also his brothers) got ready at Penrose Cottage, while the girls were up the hill at the Celestine Retreat. The reveal was in the beautiful gardens at Celestine. The ceremony and reception were at Rachel’s family’s farm.
See if you can spot the moment when Josh realises he only brought his own wedding vows, leaving Rachel’s behind! Rachel spoke her vows from memory and from the heart (and may have mentioned Josh's forgetfulness!) leaving lots of their guests (and their photographers) dabbing at their eyes.
